GAA Football – A Lot Of Entertainment

In may, the national football league gets over every year. The hard training is given to the footballers in the winter. After it the grounds are get ready for the famous GAA football championship.  Do you know that first time Ireland football was played in 1887, this league was played by many clubs and these clubs were representing their countries in an open tournament. That time Limerick’s club was known as Commercials defeated young Irelanders.  Today the trophy of All Ireland Champions is called as Sam Maguire Cup, named after the famous corkman, The cup has been presented to the winning caption s of this league since 1928. Nowadays, all 32 counties from the island of Ireland usually enter participate into this respective Provincial Tournament. Two additional teams of Irish Diaspora in London and New York also compete in the All Ireland Championships.
The GAA Senior soccer Championship was a knock out league and the four regional leagues were played between counties to decide the winner. The four winners from each county then compete in opposition with each other in All Ireland Semi Finals for a place in the All Ireland Final.
The Year 2001 many changes were made to the GAA Football Championships. Beaten teams in the Provincial league were acceptable back into the "qualifier rounds" by a back door method of qualification. This efficiently means that a team which was defeated in their Province can re-enter the All Ireland Championship through the qualifier stage. After these changes the GAA became more interesting.
